After all the excitement of yesterday’s Yumi AW10 announcement, we’ve got something more for you! This season, we are pleased to introduce Uttam Boutique; the new name and rebranding for Uttam London, which has been going strong for 10 years now.
Autumn/Winter 2010 sees the Uttam London brand transform into a new, sleek and sophisticated range. Under the direction of the existing dedicated design team but with an added emphasis on style and quality the re-born boutique brand offers chic and wearable pieces for day to night for the style conscious.
Combining modern prints with intricate embellished detailing, the signature style is not compromised but advanced to incorporate a cleaner, slicker range. A new distinctive contemporary style is the basis to the collection offered for the free-spirited and confident individual. Showcasing three Key themes as focus throughout the entire collection; Vintage Glamour, Film Noir and Rustic Luxury.
The 1920’s & 30’s provide the foundation of creativity for ‘Vintage Glamour’; combining contemporary fabrics, finishes and styling to these decadent designs, offering panache and decadence through modern flapper shapes and vintage style detailing. Re-interpreted and re-worked scale and proportion create a truly modern take on this stylish era for a new generation.
With a sinister twist, ‘Film Noir’, works with an underlying dark theme to the collection accented by surreal brights and floral prints; Think Tim Burton directing a fashion story. Quirky touches play against a sombre palette to stunning effects. Washed out, embellished and slightly deconstructed are worked into velvet, lace and draped jerseys for a contemporary gothic tale.
Concluding the stories is the ‘Rustic Luxury’ collection which combines modern silhouettes with folk inspired graphics, embellishment and embroidery. Shape plays a pivotal role, A-line designs are updated with the addition of pleats, ruffles and beading whilst bold handcrafted embroidery make for a modern statement look.
