Good morning all! It’s monday (argh) and while you peel your sleepy eyes apart, crank up the pc and make yourself an obscenely strong coffee, we’ll start the tradition of Inspiration Mondays – a little something from Yumi to get your juices flowing! This week we thought (after the drab grey weekend we just had) that a little colour is what is needed; and what better than Dior’s AW2010 Haute Couture collection? Haute Couture is like a little slice of escapism fantasy, pure art form, designed to delight the senses (and fashion tastes) while reminding us that we will probably never, ever wear something as exquisitely made as this. Alas. John Galliano has really gone to town this season and I personally am in love with the riot of colour and florals on show here.

This dress in particular is beautiful – and check out that hair! Oh oh oh.

The collection takes florals (a well used fashion staple by now) to the extreme, physically turning the garments and models into life size interpretations of flowers. It’s more the colours and the way they interact, textures and shapes of buds, flower heads and foliage than any actual floral prints; and this makes a welcome change. Expect these colours and dye effects to trickle down into the high street in seasons to come.

What’s also a stroke of genius is the cellophane fascinators- more than a subtle nod to the way florists wrap your beautiful bouquets! Genius.
These photos were taken from Nuvonova, a lovely little art and fashion blog, and Tom & Lorenzo’s blog. Both are well worth checking out and adding to your blogroll!
Have you seen anything inspirational lately? It can be fashion, art, a photograph; in fact anything at all! Do leave us a comment. And have a good and productive monday! xxx
